The first step is a consultation in my office so we can meet and get acquainted. There is no cost or obligation for that meeting. Once you decide to go forward with my services, then a $75 nonrefundable deposit is needed to hold your date. The fee for your ceremony will depend on the complexity and amount of orchestrating that is needed. Fees for my Wedding Officiant services range from a base rate of $125 to $325 for the ceremony, with most weddings falling somewhere in between. There is an extra charge for a rehearsal ($100) and for travel (usually $25) outside a 15-mile radius from my office. Rehearsals are not always necessary; we will discuss this and other aspects of planning at our first meeting.
Initial consultation includes sitting down with you to discuss the structure and details of your special day. I'm happy to share ideas and suggestions, and invite you to be as involved as you want to be. For example, some couples like to write their own vows; others like me to come up with something for them. I will help you tailor-make a ceremony that is uniquely your own, with words, ritual and tone that reflect you as individuals.
After the consultation I offer an outline of what we have discussed and a script of everything that will be said. A convenient way to do this is back and forth by email. We can then fine-tune this up until shortly before your ceremony.
If you have several attendants or a complicated format, a rehearsal the night before will help you time the people and music, etc. to make sure it flows smoothly. I will be happy to help you with that if you wish. Together we will create a joyful, unique and memorable wedding day.
